In life there will always be problems, challenges, vexations, whatever we choose to denote them as…stepping stones that we face. Some seem so large that we cannot seem to climb them, go around them or break them down.

I have always held belief in God, but I have never truly exercised that belief. Perhaps because my belief in God was one of pure reason. A world built in preciseness cannot be happenstance, nature with its ever so precarious balance could not have balanced on its own. Perhaps I know this because I am at my very core of existence a creator! I know what does and does not happen by chance. I can see order in seemingly chaos and beauty in the ugly.

It is from this order that I am certain God exists, and loves us. Or at least loves His creations! But is He truly all Good? Perhaps that is one thing that I have never known for sure about God. I have hope it is true….but I have not experimented the reality of His Good Nature. Not until recently however.

A close friend of mine understood some of my current challenges and struggles and offered the simple advice Pray! Pray? What an overly simplistic and yet appropriate response. It took me quite some time to abandon my pride and deeply pray for the specific help, aid, and desires I was in need of.

Why it was so painfully hard to admit to God that I needed these things is curious. I didn’t even ‘have’ to say them out loud. Perhaps it is because I often find myself using brilliant techniques of the faithless to focus. All of which have been a huge help to me. But then I remember something I know at my heart to be of the utmost truth….All good things are of God.

If a convict can paint a beautiful picture it is because like Darth Vader there is still good in him. There is the nature of God in all of us. (If I believe all of this you may wonder why I haven’t really prayed before) I do not know.

Whatever the reason, I have for the past two weeks abandoned my pride and my desires to change myself, and a few others around me and given the paintbrush back to God and allowed him to make the changes. Trusting for perhaps the first time in my life that God is ALL GOOD and what he does with the brush will be perfect and exactly what I didn’t know I wanted, but wanted oh so deeply.

You know the strange part. He DID! and He Does! Simple as that!

My advice when you are moving forward like a freight train, when you are doing everything possible to get where you want to be and yet there is still that little someting holding you back. Don’t run, Don’t walk, don’t even refocus your mind. (All of which work wonders most of the time.) But get on your knees and Pray! Spill the beans…all of them.

God is afterall bound by governing laws and he cannot aid the heard that does not WANT to change!

After the chaos of the holiday life seems a bit dull. As someone overwhelmed with dreams and desires I often get worn out and wonder how I can do all of this on my own. Sometimes I take a break and absorb myself into a good book. This time it is the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson! Delicious!

The funny thing with reading is usually I get flustered at that as well. I just find it irritating that the characters seem to be able to do and accomplish so much while I am wasting my time reading about it. This time however was thankfully different. Sanderson does not just write amazing characters who do amazing things, he explains their development, attitudes and characteristics that help them achieve these grand feats. He is also very realistic in his time frame.

With his books I have been able to get the much needed escape from my mind as well as improve myself by learning much about the desired characteristics I would like to build in myself.

This is a short post, but big changes will be coming soon. Areas of emphasis will be more precise and search-able. When you are as multifaceted as a Rozelle Diamond it is important that the faces fall in coordinating order else one cannot see the order in the chaos and enjoy the complex beauty!

To all of my friends genuinely seeking salvation I have come across something of immense value. But before I get to it I would ask some help of you.

What’s in a name? As I try desperately to come up with a name for my soon to be daughter I realize just how much rides on a name. Often peoples first impression of you is impacted by what they read into your name as much as what they read into your appearance.

Names can give the sense of strength, charisma, intrique, coldness, or armth. Oft times people can perseave you as weak, boring, or a stick in the mud based on the rhythmic sound of your name.

With so many names in the world, giving your child a truely unique name that he/she can make or break is difficult if not improbable. Besides that so much more of the impression is based on the phonetic sound of the name more so than the name itself.

Much like, dressing oneself, or decorating a room whichever particular style you choose to go with, while it has its inherrient feel and look will come across succesful if the correct flow and togetherness is achieved. Ie. Minimalist may not be your style but when looking at a perfectly balanced minimilast room everyone agrees it is a thing of beauty.

It is only when we try too hard and over indulge that we are left wanting. That being said here are my five top pics for names. Would love it if you would share your feedback.

1. Kiara Icelyn Short

2. Scarlett Elizabeth Short

3. Tessa Elayne Short

4. Lillian Drue Short

5. Shelby Isabell Short

Thanks I really appreciate any thoughts. Now for my friends seeking salvation read Chapter 9 in 2 Nephi. Ponder it. For it is in the pondering that you are able to apply it to your life.

If you read my last post you will know of the trials and pitfalls that have led me to this point. If you have not read it. Go read it. Yeah right now. Trust me on this one you have so much more to gain and nada to loose.

So there I was, immersed in the void cycling on as if forever. It wasn’t until the 7th or 8th mile that I even noticed how tired my legs actually were. It was that fatigue, that feeling of pain that reminded me I was in a race. I could go faster, I must go faster. This was my best event. If you don’t preform you best at your best, what can you hope to accomplish.

I pushed on through the pain, legs pumping hard for those last five miles. I dumped my bike at the station and like the newbie I was I started running with my helmet on.

Everyone was so supportive. Here I was, oblivious to the world yet striving towards my goal. I wasn’t going to win, I just needed to finish. The onlookers and fellow athletes caught me and one super nice guy even offered to take my helmet back to my bike for me. (I’m pretty sure now that any help is against the rules and grounds for DQ, but like I said I wasn’t going to win.) I was so relieved.

Let me pause here for a moment and give you a cut of my world. You see I live in southern Florida. Beautiful and sunny, but not always the most friendly people. It has been my personal experience here the last two years that anyone and everyone will try to cheat you and prevent you from succeeding. What a change at the race!

I am sure that because I put it out there, because I was doing all I could to achieve my goal that those others couldn’t help but want me to succeed. You see it is really simple, there is an equal and opposite reaction to everything. If you find yourself needing massive help in whatever you do it will reveal itself and be there once you put forth the effort towards your goal yourself.

Just like the squeaky wheel gets the grease, the stretched out hand gets far more than the open palm. Running was yet to be another challenge for me as I was determined not to walk!

I had to say to myself over and over again, “Run until there is absolutely nothing left” “This may be the most exhausting, but you are two legs down.”

I must admit, I could have done better. I never ran more than 3.5 miles in training as I was preoccupied with the swim. The race turned out to be 4 miles. Which seems a breeze now, but at the time it most definitely was not. You know it was doing that run as I passed a few volunteer cheerleaders that I truly realized the importance of a cheerleader!

It seems so trivial when you are doing it, but when you are out there kicking your butt and pushing your limits, it is the fans the cheerleaders chants and shouts that can give you that extra bit.

I didn’t succeed entirely and ended up walking for about 3/4 a mile. But I ran across that finish line. And you know what I completed my goal. One completed triathlon! But even better than that, I did it in just barely over two hours!!

You see when we truely go after our goals; when we maintain that unwavering faith; when we refuse to give up we always come out victorious! And the best part, more often than not we surprise ourselves and find the victory, the success far more sweet than we could have ever imagined.

Not only did I learn to swim, but I grew vastly in other areas. I developed as a person all for setting, striving for and achieving simple goals! Fantastic!

I am having much needed family time this week, but my lovely visiting teacher Rochelle Beck as drawn upon her years of experience to give us this amazing article. Read it and leave a comment. Help me show some support for someone who serves without want!

Bridget Short!

And now, Rochelle’s Article:

So when I was asked to write on this subject I had a hundred thought go through my head. so hopefully I can put this into some kind of order .
The biggest difference between the people I know who are real or authentic vs. those who are puffed up on an ego boils down to selfishness.

let me give you an example. I worked at an elite child care center for a number of years. I love children so that is what I chose to do.

The parents of the children for the most part were very well to do. By some I was treated as a servant not valued for my education and knowledge I was not equal to there standards because I was not on the same playing field money wise.

By other parents, still very well to do, I was of value. They saw me as a person, who like them chose a profession they loved. And they were grateful I was there to look after their children while they worked.

I find it interesting that those who are real, authentic have moral value and God is a big part of there lives. while they that are puffed up could only see what they thought they were worth and had no time for God.

They looked for praise of man. when they did something of worth it was for name recognition. not just to help.

The real people became my friends and I still get pictures of there families from time to time. While those who were puff up on an ego trip never knew what blessings they missed out on by only seeing them self’s as of worth.

I think we all have times in our lives when we are selfish. But those who reach out to help others with no thought of what they might get out of it.Those who smile at others who say hello to strangers, who love life and the Lord, those who have charity are the real and authentic people.

They are who I hope to become.

Guest Blogger, Rochelle Beck

Thank you Rochelle, you truly are amazing!

Anyway I though I would bring it to my new blog so anyone who missed it can check it out. If you don’t know what Twitwall is check the link, basically its a mini blog for tweetheads.

So Exactly Why is it that where ever you are in life is ok as long as you are facing the right direction?

Life my friends is all about progression! We cannot change the past so we need not dwell on where it has brought us and dwindle in self pitty, or self pride. The future is the only thing we can have influence on and the present is the only time in which we can effect it!

A quote from “Harriett the Spy” I never go back in life only forward! Good advice, but let me give you an example!

My little boy just turned 10months old he has been walking for over a month now. Realatively fast as babies go. He is not puffed up in his abilities however. No instead he is moving on to the next level, running. He falls just as much now as he did when he was learning to walk. If he didn’t try to run, he probably wouldn’t ever fall but he is driven to progress, to learn to grow to get better.

His little friend at 11 months still cannot walk he does not try to run, he sees where he is…learning to walk and continues on the path.

Simple example, but often simple is the best. So I say look at your life be satisfied with yourself no matter where you are. You could be at the bottom of a pit, but if your direction is up and out then you are just as well off as the man on solid ground.

It is when we are sliding into digression we must have cause for concern and worry!

Life will through us set backs, but 2 steps forward 1 step back is still progress!

I hope that answered why so? And to all my tweets keep on progressing!!
